about

Chiral (pronounced KY-RULL) was a band based in the suburbs of Chicago (mostly Bolingbrook, IL) from about 2001 to 2003. The band members were Ryan Dolan, Jon Dudlak, Brian Elza, Rob McMillan, and Todd Rabideau. They opened a few shows in the Chicago area for some cool bands that they liked a lot, spent way too long recording some songs themselves, and then broke up.

This was an EP released by us in 2003, a few months before we ended the band for good. We spent a crapload of time working on it at Rob's studio Alphasonic, which was located in the basement of the house where he and Todd lived at the time in Bolingbrook. We threw a lot of guitar tracks on this thing. The packaging was painstakingly designed and assembled by the band, and involved completely DIY resources, a lot of inkjet printable materials, and even paper tubing manufactured by Jon's family business. We made somewhere upwards of 50 copies and I don't think we were ever in danger of selling out. Most of us probably have a few copies sitting around at home unless they were lost in a move somewhere along the way. Many copies were probably given to ex-girlfriends and have since been thrown away.
